Bertrand Russell: What is an Agnostic?
In 1950 Bertrand Russell was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. He was born May 18, 1872, spoke French and German perfectly, was a graduate of Trinity College (Cambridge) with honors, an attaché to the British Embassy in Paris, a lecturer at Trinity College and an author of several books. He was offered a post at Harvard university, but refused. He was jailed twice for his pacifist views and, in fact, wrote one of his books while imprisoned.
