Once again the play "Corpus Christi" is stirring debate. This time in Stephenville, Texas at the Tarleton State University. Isn't that wonderful? I saw the play many years ago in Austin, Texas. The story was sensitive and emotional. I was very impressed. But so many seem to feel it depicts Jesus as gay. I didn't get that message at all. You know, for many years I felt the world would be a better place if religion never existed. Now I have some doubt. I really think some people are so unable to know the difference between right and wrong that they need it spelled out for them. They need a book of rules. As we can see, they can't even follow those. Obviously some people need religion to keep from committing horrible acts against other fellow humans. Much like a person with a broken leg needs a crutch. We all know he wouldn’t have any worldly possessions and if he’s still wearing that old robe he was wearing the last time around he would most likely appear to be a homeless person. Recently preachers have turned to politics in the pulpits. Some claim they have every right to preach politics. I agree with them, they have every right to preach politics, AFTER they give up their tax exempt status. But they don’t want to do that. A church of greed is not a true church! It’s very interesting and telling these churches demand everyone adhere to the bible yet they ignore the words of Jesus himself. Jesus said “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21)

But they say that right was taken away from them at June's gay pride event. No one was arrested. But the protester's attorney says police told not to hold signs or pass out literature on Christianity. He says one of the protesters was also told to take off a shirt with the words "liberated by the blood of Jesus." These are the same protesters that were found guilty of disrupting a gay pride event last year. That ruling has been appealed by the protestors. BETHLEHEM, West Bank (AFP) — Seven people were injured on Thursday when Greek Orthodox and Armenian priests came to blows in a dispute over how to clean the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Following the Christmas celebrations, Greek Orthodox priests set up ladders to clean the walls and ceilings of their part of the church, which is built over the site where Jesus Christ is believed to have been born. But the ladders encroached on space controlled by Armenian priests, according to photographers who said angry words ensued and blows quickly followed.
