To knowingly lie is almost always wrong. To do so from a position of religious authority is surely, even more wrong! After all, such people usually believe a person cannot possess morals without religious teachings. By making such a claim they suggest that they possess righteous morals because of their extensive religious background. In other words, we are not to question what they say because they possess 'righteous-religious-morality' and are above reproach. Such people are arrogant and believe they are superior. Factually speaking this is often a sign of inferiority! As the old saying goes; Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely! At one point many followers most likely considered these religious leaders 'prophets'. But through their own actions, they have shown their followers they are, in fact, false prophets! As a pre-school child I was watching my father as he prepared to mow the lawn. He brought the mower into the garage, filled it up with gas and off he went. I decided to help. So I went and got my mower. Dad was nice enough to leave the gas can easily accessible. Following Dad's lead I 'filled my mower up with gas'. The problem was, my mower was a plastic kids mower. So the gas went on the floor of the garage. Evidently, while Dad and I were out mowing the hot water heater (which was in the garage) came on. The house and Dad’s brand new Lincoln (dream car) burned down! Mom has a burn mark on her leg. This helps keep the story alive and well (when she wears shorts, bathing suit, etc). Guest: “How did you get that terrible scar on your leg?” Mom: “Tom did it when he burned down the house!” So whose fault was it this fire occurred? Most parents take extra precautions around children. As this case points out, mistakes happen. We are, after all, human. But now,...

A blog has been setup which provides all the information and links necessary to file a complaint with the IRS regarding the Mormon Church's pulpit politics. It is commonly believed proposition 8 would not have passed in California were it not for the Mormon Church involvement. As I've stated previously obtaining a religious tax exemption and then using that for politics is unfair and against the spirit of law. Recently preachers have turned to politics in the pulpits. Some claim they have every right to preach politics. I agree with them, they have every right to preach politics, AFTER they give up their tax exempt status. But they don’t want to do that. A church of greed is not a true church! It’s very interesting and telling these churches demand everyone adhere to the bible yet they ignore the words of Jesus himself. Jesus said “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21)

Americans United for Separation of Church and State today filed complaints with the Internal Revenue Service about six churches whose pastors endorsed candidates from the pulpit during a mass defiance of federal tax law last Sunday. “These pastors flagrantly violated the law and now must deal with the consequences,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. The six churches reported to the IRS by Americans United today are: Bethlehem Baptist Church, Bethlehem, Ga.: According to press accounts, Pastor Jody Hice “urged his congregation to vote for Sen. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution The Rev. Jody Hice fired a verbal volley Sunday in a battle that he believes will return the United States to its American Revolutionary roots. From his pulpit at Bethlehem First Baptist Church outside of Atlanta, he urged his congregation to vote for Sen. John McCain and to not vote for Sen. Barack Obama. But that was the whole point, so Emrich forged ahead with his message: Thou shalt vote according to the Scriptures. "I'm telling you straight up, I would choose life," Emrich told about 100 worshippers Sunday at New Life Church, a nondenominational evangelical congregation about 40 miles from Milwaukee. Americans United for separation of church and state The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), a Religious Right legal group based in Arizona, is urging pastors to endorse or oppose candidates from the pulpit on Sept. 28, even though IRS regulations forbid tax-exempt groups from intervening in political campaigns. Reportedly, about 30 churches will participate. “Taking part in this reckless stunt is a one-way ticket to loss of tax exemption,” said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United. “We’ll be watching, and pastors who violate the law can expect their churches to be reported to the IRS the first thing Monday morning.” Since 1996, Americans United has sponsored Project Fair Play, an effort designed to educate religious leaders about the requirements of federal tax law.
