Righteous Morals and Righteous Lies

Image
To knowingly lie is almost always wrong. To do so from a position of religious authority is surely, even more wrong! After all, such people usually believe a person cannot possess morals without religious teachings. By making such a claim they suggest that they possess righteous morals because of their extensive religious background. In other words, we are not to question what they say because they possess 'righteous-religious-morality' and are above reproach. Such people are arrogant and believe they are superior. Factually speaking this is often a sign of inferiority! As the old saying goes; Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely! At one point many followers most likely considered these religious leaders 'prophets'. But through their own actions, they have shown their followers they are, in fact, false prophets! Indeed, such 'prophets' have lost the two most important aspects of greatness; grace and humility! Many of them claim all the bad t...

Religious greed

Recently preachers have turned to politics in the pulpits. Some claim they have every right to preach politics. I agree with them, they have every right to preach politics, AFTER they give up their tax exempt status. But they don’t want to do that. A church of greed is not a true church! It’s very interesting and telling these churches demand everyone adhere to the bible yet they ignore the words of Jesus himself. Jesus said “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21)

Georgia college campuses get a good laugh from preachers

The Southern Voice story said that the preachers did not draw much of a crowd , and those students who did stop to listen responded with derisive laughter or with puzzlement. One Georgia Tech student, dressed in a bathrobe, shouted equations from his calculus. Other students used the proceedings as fodder for jokes; Southern Voice recounted how a preacher asked onlookers, "How many of you masturbate?" When hands went up, the preacher declared, "[You] are in serious danger of becoming homosexuals." Said one student, as he wrapped his arms around another young man, "My god, I think it’s already happening to me!"

Lesbian daughter of anti-gay pastor speaks out

Pastor Salvatore Roggio, of Millville, New Jersey, was compelled to hang a sign outside his church that read, "Help for the Homosexual" promoting the week's sermon delivered by "ex-gay" Greg Quinlan . "I do not believe that people are born gay," Pastor Salvatore Roggio said, speaking in front of the sign. Roggio believes homosexuality is an addiction - like alcoholism - and can be broken. Unfortunately for Rev. Roggio's daughter, she is a lesbian born into the family of a man who believes homosexuality is a choice. The 29-year-old woman came out to her parents when she was 18, after struggling for years with her sexuality and the ramifications of her father's religious beliefs. " It is with great sadness that I learned of the public statements my father has made against my community ," said Sharon Roggio. She continued, "Just as straight people never made the choice to be straight, gays and lesbians never made the choice to be ...
