Video: Ex-Lesbian and employee, defends Focus on the Family

In a recent article (from the right) voicing the opinions of Melissa Fryrear (director of the gender issues department at Focus on the Family and “previously a lesbian”) she makes the following statements:

Don’t people of faith have the same right as any other American to be a part of the public dialogue? And shouldn’t Christians have the right to live their lives according to their biblical beliefs?

Hey Melissa, don’t gay Americans have the right to live their lives according to their biblical beliefs (or non-biblical beliefs)?

Melissa, when you “cherry pick” parts of the bible you wish to espouse it will never work. NONE of the folks who scream and yell about living bibilically are doing so.

We all know the bible is FULL of rules and laws which NO ONE follows any longer.

Melissa, gay churches exist! This in itself proves some religious folks don’t share all of your beliefs.

Melissa, last I noticed FOF is very much a part of the pubic dialogue. In fact Mr. Dobson was recently awarded for his worldwide radio broadcast on thousands of radio stations.

Melissa I’m happy that you are no longer sexually conflicted. Perhaps you have made a decision which was right for you. Of course that doesn’t mean it’s right for everyone!

For those of us who are not sexually conflicted, and happy with our sexuality, we wish you all the best. We also hope you won’t be arogant and ignorant by attempting to force your personal beliefs on others. Doing so dilutes your beliefs.

When “therapy”groups support a parents “right” to force a teen into coversion therapy you are forcing your beliefs on others.

This “therapy” you so proudly support has pushed people to suicide.

I hope your justification of that, come judgement day, will be acceptable.

Oh, by the way, here's a video showing how welcoming and compassionate Focus on the Family is:

Melissa Fryrear, simply put, is a wacko, nothing more than a modern day circus sideshow.

Blessed Be, Ms. Fryrear,
I too am happy that you have found your authenticity and I applaud your bravery in your search. Alas, however, the answer to your question is NO. If your faith requires or even strongly encourages you to trumpet that message in my ear, no, you do not have the right to live that faith. If your faith requires that you destroy churches and slaughter and enslave the worshipers, No, you do not have that right. If your faith requires, under pain of stoning or beating that I hide under a black blanket when out of doors, no you do not have that right,
It is said, quite rightly, in our nation that your rights extend only to the tip of my nose (or ear, if you will).
