More 'good christian' Lies about Marriage
At a recent NOM (National Organization for Marriage) rally in Iowa a Concerned Women for America representative stated:
“It costs you, the taxpayer, as high as $280 billion a year for fragmented families, according to the Family Research Council. If we would correct the breakdown of the family by 1 percent, we could save the taxpayer $3 billion a year,” she said. “An easy fix and a better fix long term for our children… When the family is healthy, the community benefits. When the family is hurting, society will pay the cost one way or another. We can fix this economic downturn very easily by fixing some hearts.”
Don't you just love the way they throw these 'facts' out there without explaining them. There is a reason they don't explain it. Because they can't!
If anything is fragmented about families it's the 50% divorce rate that currently exist in heterosexual marriages. How can anyone scream and yell about 'family health' yet never mention half of them are ending up in divorce?
Of course what good is a anti-gay speech without mentioning children? Even though recent studies have shown children raised by gays do just fine.
It's only common sense that states actually make money when they have more marriages. When you have more marriages you have more marriage related spending.
